TALIBAN CLAIM TO HAVE KILLED ANOTHER SOUTH KOREAN HOSTAGE
Taliban kidnappers claim to have killed one of the remaining 22 South Korean missionaries they are holding hostage. A spokesman for the kidnappers announced today that the body of Mr. Sung Sin has been dumped in the southern province of Ghazni. The claim has not been confirmed by deadline. The kidnappers are demanding the release of captured Taliban militants in exchange for the hostages.

A.S.E.A.N. LEADER AGREE TO FORM HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations today agreed to form a human rights body in hopes of shoring up its credibility. Girlie Linao reports in Manila.

SOUTH KOREAN HOSTAGE SITUATION CONTINUES IN AFGHANISTAN

At least one of the 23 South Korean missionaries held hostage by Taliban kidnappers has been found dead with multiple bullet wounds. Eight of the hostages were reportedly released today. The Taliban kidnappers are demanding a prisoner release in exchange for the remaining hostages. South Korea has since banned its citizens from traveling to Afghanistan.

INDIA INAUGURATES FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT

In other news, India inaugurated its first female president today. Pratibha Patil will fill the largely ceremonial role for the next 5 years. She is one of only seven female presidents in the world.

US TALKS WITH IRAN "HEATED"

The US ambassador to Iraq met with his Iranian counterpart in Baghdad
today for the second round of talks between the two countries in
nearly 30 years. The US blames Iran for supporting Shiite militias
within Iraq - a claim Iran says Washington cannot prove. During the
reportedly tense meeting, Iran agreed to join a 3-party subcommittee
with the US and Iraq to focus on Iraq's security situation.

BRITAIN EXPERIENCES WORST FLOODING IN LIVING MEMORY

Britain is facing some of it's worst flooding in living memory. Naomi
